Yuli Andrea Chica:  On Her Way to Study in the United States

Yuli Andrea Chica, a 17 year-old young girl, is the first Colombian to fulfill all the requirements for a scholarship to pursue her undergraduate studies in the United States under the United States Achievement Program (USAP). She will undertake her classes of International Business beginning September 8th at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida.
In 2006, when Yuli was in 10th grade, she received a scholarship to study English at the Colombo Americano. The requirements were to belong to socioeconomic stratum 1 or 2 and to have both very good academic standing and the desire to overcome obstacles. With the help of the Colombo’s Educational Consultant, Juan Mazo, she applied in 2007 to USAP, which offered to help with admission fees and lodging expenses in this American university.

Yuli got a score of 102 out of 120 in the TOEFL exam, which measures the knowledge of the English language to study in English speaking universities. The Colombo is proud of Yuli Chica for being the first Colombian scholarship fellow that has completed all the requirements for this challenging scholarship
