TOEIC

TOEIC test evaluates the test taker´s ability to communicate in English. The questions simulate real-life situations that are relevant to the global workplace. Score reports provide accurate, meaningful feedback about a test taker's strengths and weaknesses, along with a description of the English language strengths typical of test takers performing at various score levels.

 

The exam takes two hours and consists of 200 multiple choice questions that are divided into two sections:

 

Section I: Listening. 100 questions and takes approximately 45 minutes.

 

Section II: Reading Comprehension. 100 questions of grammar and reading comprehension,

C-ORAL
Academic certificate (non-native speakers) for communication skills.

 

The C-ORAL is designed to assess the ability of nonnative speakers of English to communicate effectively in English.  The test is designed to analyze the use of spoken language over different parameters in order to verify the ease and accuracy in which the language is produced by the test-taker.  The test can be used for employment, graduate assistantships, licensure, and certification purposes in Medellin, Colombia.

 

The C-ORAL exam consists of a series of standardized questions to be answered by the test-taker covering the following areas:

Grammar and vocabulary in context, Oral production, Pronunciation and Interactive communication.

 

TOEFL ITP

The Institutional Testing Program provides convenient, affordable English proficiency tests that can be used for institutional placement, progress evaluation, exit testing, and other situations that don't require an international certification.

TOEFL® ITP consists of previously administered TOEFL paper-based tests. It evaluates nonnative English speakers' skills in three areas, for academic purposes:

·       Listening Comprehension measures the ability to understand English, including short and long conversations and short talks or lectures

·         Structure and Written Expression — measures the ability to recognize standard written English

·         Reading measures the ability to read and understand short passages at the university level

SLEP

Examination measures the listening and reading skills of students of English as a Second Language in high school programs. The SLEP is given primarily to eighth and ninth graders and in some cases depending on the intensity of English language instruction; it is administered in the tenth grade.


The results of the tests help educational institutions and students make decisions regarding:

 

• Placement in English courses.

• Acceptance to English program.

• Exchange programs.

 

MET

The MET has been designed and created by Michigan University English Language Institute to replace the previous MELICET Exam.

The MET is a general proficiency test, assessing English language proficiency in social, business, and academic contexts. It assesses the ability to understand written and spoken English.

 

The MET is designed to measure proficiency in the following basic language skill areas: listening, reading, and language usage (grammar and vocabulary). The MET lasts 2 hours and consists of:

 

Part 1: Listening with embedded vocabulary.

Part 2: Reading and Grammar with embedded vocabulary.

 

The MET exam takes approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes to complete and the registration and administration process is only handled by the 9 Centro Colombo Americanos in Colombia.

 

The test will only be administered once every month. Therefore, the registration must be made between 3 to 4 weeks in advance before the date of the exam.

 

Scores are aligned with The Common European Framework and scoring is done electronically by the University of Michigan that will issue the certificates and final scores.
